John Myrup was born in Utah. He received a degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Utah. After spending some time in biology, John decided to pursue his interest in painting. He is basically a self- taught artist.
John's oil paintings are in collections throughout the United States and Canada. He is well recognized for his amazing ability to paint realism through his mastery of a very fine tipped brush.
